From our first purchase to our long term strategy all captured below.
Acquisition of a Historic Property
The purchase of a historic estate sparked our interest in digital documentation and building preservation. While exploring the cost of traditional modeling services, we discovered the potential of reality capture technologies and decided to invest directly in our own equipment and expertise.
First Reality-Capture Project
Our team completed its first 360° panoramic documentation project and drone photogrammetry survey. This experience demonstrated how quickly accurate digital twins and 3D models can be created from real-world environments.
Professional LiDAR Training
After completing advanced LiDAR training under industry expert Dylan Gorman, we expanded our capabilities beyond photography-based modeling and into professional-grade spatial data capture, point-cloud generation, and digital twin workflows.
Industry Validation at 3DISE
Attendance at the 3DISE Conference in Prague connected us with leaders in reality capture, digital twins, and spatial computing. These conversations helped refine our service offering and prepare the launch of La Vila 3D.
First mobile LiDAR SLAM purchased
After reinforcing our opinion of this important technology at 3DISE, we purchased our first device complete with thermal camera. This state-of.-the-art tech fundamentally changes how we approach ground-based digital capture.
Industry award for use of SLAM tech in our workflow
Applying the recent purchase of the mobile SLAM unit, we documented our process of scanning the La Vila masia, then turning the data into actionable insights to be used for renovation and reconstruction. It earned us SECOND PLACE in the competition. We received the device mid June and submitted the fully produced video end of June. That's a fast turnaround. That's a BIG WIN!
Official Launch of La Vila 3D
Following months of preparation, equipment testing, training, and workflow development, La Vila 3D officially began providing reality-capture services throughout Catalunya for architecture, construction, heritage, and property professionals.
Expansion into Aerial LiDAR
The addition of drone-based LiDAR systems will complement our existing photogrammetry, SLAM LiDAR, thermal imaging, and 360° capture capabilities, enabling faster and more accurate digital twins for larger and more complex sites.
